For the man who belongs to two worlds.
When we flew to Nigeria for the funeral of Akin's grandfather, the tailor arrived at the house in the middle of the grief. She opened her notebook, took measurements — and a few days later, at the funeral celebration — which in Nigeria is always also a celebration of life — the fabrics carried meaning. Who belonged to the closest family, who to the extended.
I'm Lisa, born in Munich. My fiancé Akin, who grew up in Oyo, works today in a corporate environment in Munich, and wears what everyone there wears: the international business look. Every family visit, we bring Ankara prints back home — vivid, full of meaning. In Munich, they sit without a place. Not forgotten. Just without a home.
That question became AKINLOYE. A premium shirt in European tailoring. At the cuffs and collar lining: handpicked Ankara fabric. Meaningful. Unmistakable.
"A garment that carries two complete worlds —
without either one giving up the other."
We use only the finest cotton fabrics. At the collar lining and cuffs: handpicked Ankara prints — worn in Nigeria for generations at the most important moments in life.
A Note on the Visuals
The shirts shown are design visualisations. The final Ankara fabrics are still being chosen — those on the private list will see them first. The final price depends on the Ankara fabrics we choose — we won't compromise on that. Those on the private list will know first. Assumedly starting from €189.
These are early concepts — the final Ankara prints will be revealed exclusively to those on the private list.
Those on the private list are the first to see the final fabrics — and the first to order.
